Revising IP 21 Staying Clean in Isolation
Today and every day, addicts are staying clean in ordinary and extraordinary circumstances. Our Basic Text reminds us that “there is no model of the recovering addict,” and our experience has shown that we can stay clean and recover from the disease of addiction “no matter what.”

- Revising IP 21 The Loner – Staying Clean in Isolation
Update: This project is underway. During the first half of 2024 we reached out to members who identified as “interested in geographic/physical isolation in recovery” through the Focus Group Volunteer form and held multiple focus group sessions to help direct the project. This focus group input along with the previous survey results guided our work for a draft revision of the IP for review and input. Subscribe to NAWS News to receive updates on this project.
Background – You can read more about the background of this project here.
Next Steps – The next steps follow the customary approval process: the draft is now available for review and input until 15 May. Please use the input form provided for your comments and insights on the draft. After 15 May we will revise the draft based on the input received, and an approval draft will appear in the 2026 CAR.
